Sunshine

Haseena aunty always embraced me with such sunshine and love every time we would visit. Not only did she have the brightest smile but she also surrounded those around her with such love and warmth. It was impossible to not smile back when she spoke with you! Her & uncle always encouraged my imagination as a child, thinking I was visiting a jungle surrounded by wild animals and adventures whenever I’d visit. It was a young girl’s silly idea but for them to not only allow my imagination to run wild but to encourage it, that shows how big she loves. This memory alone give example to what a great educator I’m sure she was. To give her students the love and support they always needed like she’s always done for family.

We’ve lost a light in this world but the sky is shining brighter as she watches us from above with her big, loving smile. I’ll miss you, aunty.
