My dearest Haseena Mam,
When I heard that Haseena Begum is coming to join as English lecturer at Yellamanchili, in 1989, some of the staff members used to sing the song, ‘Haseena , oh Haseena,”…..as in that song I literally waited for you as I was the only lady working in the college. You came with all smiles as a replica of your name. You are like a sister to me sometimes and a friend at times. In those days you are a God sent gift to me. That friendship and sisterly affection continued till today and will continue untill I meet you in heaven. I love your honesty, sincerity and dedication to your work. Your child like laughter still echoes in my mind. Now it’s with me in my heart though you are far away, even in my grief also your laughter brings a smile on my face. I miss that whole hearted laughter which is very rare. We enjoyed travelling together for spot camps, shopping, dress designing, enjoying food, fun, laughter and what not. I wonder and awestruck at the bonding we have with a decade of age gap. I’m glad that I stood beside your bed for a while holding your fragile hand and listening to your sweet feeble voice praising your son-in-law who is taking care of you. Even at that time I could feel the tinge of naughtiness in your tone when you said ‘better than my husband and son.’ I’m so happy that you have a sweet, loving, caring angel as your daughter. Rubeen stood like a rock behind you on which you can lean and get solace from. Anyway you traversed through many hardships in this world and reached your heavenly abode which is the ultimate goal. Rest in Peace Mam. I love you and I miss you Mam. May the Lord fulfil all your heart’s desires on this earth in your absence. 🙏🙏
